The World Museum of Mining is open April through September. We reserve the underground tour at the World Museum of Mining, and it was one of the best things we did in the Butte area. We had a very knowledgeable tour guide and he really gave us more than we really wanted and it was wonderful.

In the end, Butte experienced a century of hard-rock mining and earned the reputation of being home to one of the world's most productive copper mines of all time. The World Museum of Mining exists to preserve the history of mining culture found in Butte and the surrounding areas.
